The Truth and How Can One Prevent Gastritis

if you have no clue what gastritis is, its the inflammation in the stomach lining causing issues within the indigestion system and pain one cannot bare. Gastritis can occur out of nowhere and happen when the body is full of alcohol, caffeine, ibuprofen (NSAIDS) and unhealthy foods such as those with too much grease and fat. There are also two types of conditions such as ACUTE and CHRONIC gastritis. Acute is very sudden and can be triggered when an individual is taking many medication and one too many on a empty stomach. This can also happen when someone is eating uncontrollably. Chronic is on going like a never ending cycle unless you own up to your causes and change your lifestyle. The things that triggers Chronic is consuming too much alcohol, stress, fatty foods, NSAIDS, bacteria and even tobacco. Both conditions are not easy to handle and although a very few individuals may not get any symptoms... in the end their lining from within will still be inflamed.

My Experience With Chronic Gastritis

Back in the late 2018 during the winter season I experienced my first case of gastritis and I must say that it caught me off guard considering I had no clue what was wrong with my health.

What triggered my condition was alcohol and tobacco from a cigarillo. I got super tipsy and high one night at a cafe vibing with the old folks just wanting to have fun and get a little loose. Not worried about how much i drank or anything i was just loving the vibe.

Although with me having no clue how much alcohol i consumed is what shocked me the next morning when i began vomiting for hours straight and it proceeding on to the next day. Nervous out of my mind because I've never felt so bad like that before and the pain was unbearable i couldn't even stand up straight. So i finally checked into the hospital and as i'm waiting i'm thinking of all the possible outcomes which only brought a bit a fear into my mind. I hate overthinking! Well, the doctors took as many test as they could to figure out what was this all coming from and i remember a doctor asking "do you drink, do you smoke, are you pregnant?" Knowing that i wasn't pregnant i knew it had to come from alcohol and marijuana. She also stated that the foods i might be eating are unhealthy and they could cause cramps and bloating as well as vomiting. I was told to quit drinking, smoking and change my diet or it'll continue to happen. Now having to take medication for a few days, eat soup and drink water, gatorade and cranberry juice i was back to normal or that's what i thought!

Three months went by, i'm living in Waco, TX and here comes a surprise for me! Now i did think it was gone for good considering how many months have flew by, but i guess i thought wrong. I never actually quit smoking nor drinking and i was still eating unhealthy such as fast food and fatty foods so i was to blame and i knew i had messed up once again. Going through the pain the second time around was even worse with me falling into a depression and losing most of my weight. I didn't look like myself and i felt terrible, ugly and unmotivated to continue on with life. The doctors from the hospital in Waco confirmed that i had Chronic Gastritis which i had no clue what that was. I was prescribed several pills including norco and other drugs that honestly did not help in no way. So time went by and i got back on my feet again taking the days slow as they come. I was healthy again, but i still failed to listen to the doctors continuing to consume what i had no business putting into my body.

I began seeing a pattern after the third, fourth and fifth time noticing that i would get sick every 3 months to be exact. It became an never ending cycle for me throughout the year of 2019 and each time i would get sick, i fell into a mild depression lasting no more than a month. Not being able to eat full meals, bathe on my own, do my hair and wash my face really left me thinking that this isn't fun or not a joke. I remember staying inside the house for as long as i could just because I've lost confidence within myself and did not want to be looked at by anyone. Gastritis really took a toll on my life.

When the end of 2019 came around in mid December, it marked a year that I've been enduring pain and guilt. I remember saying to myself "this time is the last time, i must end this cycle." I truly had no regrets on what the year has taught me. I wanted to change the way i ate and put an end to what i let into my body so i did by starting with canceling out marijuana and alcohol. After about two weeks when i could eat regularly again i decided to then change my eating habit and start a diet. Going vegan was the only way i knew i would remain just as healthy as before so i brought a lot of healthy foods that vegans eat and began my meals. Today i am not a full time vegan though i do eat mostly vegan meals. I am a pescatarian. I do not eat all meat only fish and shrimp, and because tofu is such an amazing alternative that is what makes up for my chicken, beef and pork.

At the beginning of 2020 that's when the change took place officially. I knew that i needed to stick to my new routine and way of doing things because it's whats best for me and my health. I can say that today that i am sober and healthy! Three months went by and i have not been back in the hospital and i am beyond proud of myself. I had many dear and doubted myself and my ability to overcome this, but i did it with they help from family and friend and my mind that i did not let control me.

Although i have managed to keep my gastritis under control i still of course experience pain, but it is quite bearable. Chronic Gastritis is never gone, but if you keep up with your health you will be alright.

I am loving every decision I've made and couldn't be more happier.

Do share for those in need of information and those who would love to prevent this from happening in their future.
